Case Study Report
Four students as a team need to submit a unique case study related to engineering practice. These case studies will involve moral dilemmas that engineers might face, such as safety vs. cost, environmental impact vs. business profit, etc.
Deliverables:
Identification of Moral Issues: Identify and describe the variety of moral issues present in the case.
Types of Inquiry: Determine whether the issues fall under normative inquiry, conceptual inquiry, or factual inquiry.
Ethical Theories Application: Apply Kohlberg's theory, Gilligan’s theory, and at least two other ethical theories to analyze the dilemma. Discuss the decision-making process through each lens.
Moral Autonomy: Reflect on the concept of moral autonomy and how an engineer should act independently in the scenario, keeping professional responsibilities in mind.
